Great book; great price. A must have for an at home Learner. Easy to read and understand. I I highly recommend it for anyone learning Spanish.
This is a useful and fairly comprehensive book with an adequate number of exercises and better than usual graphics. My only problem with it is that they used a number of grammatical terms that most U.S. readers probably are not familiar with. Examples, are dative, gentative, and accusative. I would have much preferred that the authors use primarily the better-known terms and left those somewhat archaic ones in an "also-called" status if they felt one needed to know them. They do, however, give the more common names at some point although those "also calleds" may be a bit difficult to find if one is just browsing for a specific subject.Frank
This has really helped both my daugher and I with our spanish classes. Grammer has been very hard for me to grasp and this helps a lot.

This book is a reference and supplemental material for advance students. It can not be used on it's own to learn the language. It gives very little English translation and very little explanation of the parts of speech and highly technical grammar terms used. As a beginner, I've had much better luck with the English Grammar for Students of Spanish series of books. That series, gives full explanations of all terms of grammar and includes all translations on the same page so you don't waste time flipping back and forth or looking up words/terms in an separate book.
In the 16 years I've studied Spanish as a second language, this is the best material I've found for explaining and practicing advanced Spanish grammar concepts. I still have and reference the copy I bought to help me study for my AP exam.
