This book is 10 years out of date (published in 2005) and is worthless. Almost none of the screens, buttons, procedures, features, functions, etc. resemble what is offered on the current Paypal website, not to mention the many new Paypal products such as "Paypal Cash", "Paypal Prepaid Debit Card", etc. which didn't even exist 10 years ago.

This book was way behind the current Pay Pal process. It was difficult to follow the examples in the code because they didn't work in production

The reason I bought this book to learn how to add PayPal to my Web-based business, but while reading this book, I discovered that this is a wonderfully comprehensive book on the capabilites of PayPal and what it has to offer.If you want to go beyond making a payment on eBay by using PayPal, PayPal for Dummies, like most of the "for Dummies" books will get you started and answer basic questions. What I discovered was that I could install some payment buttons on my website for my Web-based business as well as add some donations buttons to any non-profit organization. PayPal For Dummies had all the information I needed and more to achieve various goals and the information was easy to find.PayPal For Dummies explains how to establish a PayPal account, deposit or withdrawal money from your PayPal account, create multi-user access to your account, accept payments in international currencies, use PayPal to help shipping merchandise, and create a shopping cart with buttons for purchasing merchandise on your website or making charitable donations from your website.Overall a good reference book for the person trying to know and understand PayPal.

If you want to get beyond making a payment on eBay using PayPal, PayPal for Dummies, like most of the "for Dummies" books, will get you started and answer basic questions. I needed to install some payment buttons on a small-scale website for a non-profit organization that needed to accept donations and sell a few books on-line; and for this, it had all the information I needed and it was easy to find it.My one caveat is that the book is a bit out of date. PayPal has updated their "button factory" so that it now creates encrypted buttons by default. The instructions in *PayPal for Dummies* mostly focuses on regular HTML-type buttons. (Plain HTML buttons are easy to understand, but not very secure.) Anyway, if you are expecting an exact correlation between the book and the PayPal web interface, you won't get it. I hope they update the book soon.I bought the book for the web application. There is also information on the way PayPal can be used to send and receive payments but I didn't pay too much attention to that part.

I'm new to the unix/linux system. Learning because of all the commotion as of late in the cyber world. This book did not seem very intuitive to me, examples are created and aren't explained as made up instead you end up creating meaningless files and have to apply the characteristics to normal behavior.The book also does not explain some things that should be explained in the begining of the book. Usually they will have something that says "see chapter 5 for more details on -----" but not always the case, especially the email talk. They talk about emails and perusing email in early chapters but it isnt until 220 pages into the book that you actually find anything differently. I needed this book for a class in college, really is not that good. I would suggest getting another book as well as this one, possibly about shell commands. I'll update this later if I find one. The humor is very dry and pretentious to say the least, reddit users would have a ball tearing this guy to shreds.Honestly I learned a lot with this book but I also put 20+ hours in doing so with many revisitations. This book wouldnt be bad as a reference but does not do justice as a introductory "quickstart"Also reading the other person's review - if this book is nearly identical to the previous version you'd be better off getting the previous version. what they may have added was the indexes at the end (which are actually helpful).

Unless this is assigned for a class (which is why I bought it) I would bypass this for almost anything else. The one benefit of this book is the clearly written text and the attractive layout. BUT many of the graphics showing code and output have been shrunk so much to fit them into neat columns that they are literally illegible without a magnifying glass. So you miss whatever the point of those examples might be. Moreover, coverage of many areas that are important for beginners is absent or skimpy.I was lucky to be able to find supplementary material from the library to get me through the class - this was pretty inadequate.

An excellent book for beginners to use. To the authors a score of 10. The book is easy to read and comprehend. I received the book in excellent condition.

My husband is not only the most difficult person to buy a present for but also a huge coffee snob. You've heard the song, "Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover," my husband has 50 ways to brew coffee. Cold press, press pot, drip, brew, etc. And he's tried a ton of coffees as well. He times things, checks the temperature of the water and has also used water from our well before it goes through any filtration or softening. So I was thrilled when I got this book and not only did he not ask to return it (yes, almost every present I get him) but he has said how much he loves this. He said it is very comprehensive and it covers so much from the bean to the roast, coffee brewing methods, etc. So I guess I win this one. Finally, after 20 years.

I can't believe that I waited this long to get this book. It's absolutely stunning and a must have for any coffee need. Thank you James for your hard work to bring this to us and and at such an affordable price. Beautiful in every aspect.

This book was suggested to me by a friend-of-a-friend who does small-batch commercial roasting and it found me at just the right place of my coffee exploration path, however, this is, probably, not the best "introduction to coffee" type of book. The first half of the book is an overview of coffee growing, roasting and brewing and, although quite well done, in my opinion, assumes some familiarity with the subject and may feel a little cursory otherwise. The second half is dedicated to coffee growing regions and, if you are not into that level of detail, may feel a little too "referency".

Great book. The first portion of the book is very informative and interesting. The rest should probably be used strictly as a reference book. It lists every coffee growing country, its growing history, and growing varietals. It gets very repetitive if you are reading it straight through.

The first half is a rehashing of every other book on coffee, plus a bit of extra pretense. The second half offers a great overview of the literal world of coffee, a great resource for consumers with some solid info to round out a pro's knowledge. Doesn't get into great detail on some areas but does have very current info on those it does. Overall a better option than attempting to source this info from coffee forums, if a bit of an overpriced on.

I am new to brewing and grinding my own custom coffee and that's why I bought this excellent book. There is a LOT of great information about all the different kinds of coffee, on a world round basis. I doubt I will even be able to get a handle on all of them, but it's very nice to have a reference that I can go to when friends make suggestions. The part of the book dealing with grinding and brewing offered many good suggestions and I am very happy I make this purchase.

Useful book with many details to better understand coffee overall. Well written, adult and no trendy preaching in the text. Book addresses around 80% of the questions I have on the subject. I would recommend to adult coffee fans. Too many books on coffee spend more time preaching the author's trendy ideals rather than discussing coffee.

I bought this for my elder sister, who is a coffee fanatic. The book makes a great decoration for a coffee table in the living room. The content is interesting and well-organized and the images are glossy and gorgeous. A great book for any coffee-lover. My book showed up in great condition and had no problems getting to me, despite living in an apartment building.

About the Author

earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry at Fort Hays State University in 1983, and then went on to the University of Colorado to earn a Ph.D. in organic chemistry in 1987 as a National Science Foundation Pre-Doctoral Fellow. He was inducted into the national ARCS Foundation prior to joining Newman University in 1987. Although his area of expertise lies in organometallic chemistry, Dr. Shubert has taught introductory, general, organic, analytical, instrumental analysis, and bio-chemistry, in addition to earth and space science, general physical science and chemistry/physics for nurse anesthesia. In 1995, Dr. Shubert was honored by his students and peers with the Teaching Excellence Award. Although teaching remains his primary interest, Dr. Shubert has worked as a chemical consultant with several local industries, including Vulcan Chemicals and BG Products. Working with colleagues from five independent colleges, and with financial support from the National Science Foundation, the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation and the A.V. Davis Foundation, Dr. Shubert has offered numerous workshops that provide training and access to modern instrumentation to high school chemistry teachers. His research interests have evolved from organometallic chemistry to chemical education. Dr. Shubert now serves as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Newman University.received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University) in 1986 and he earned his Ph.D. in Nuclear Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 1990. He held the positions of Senior Scientist, Senior Scientist A, and Principal Scientist with Westinghouse Savannah River Company at the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site. In addition, he was the Radiochemistry Group Leader for Rust Federal Services' Clemson Technical Center located in Anderson, SC. He also held a Visiting Assistant Professor appointment in the Chemistry Department and an Adjunct Assistant Professor appointment in the Department of Environmental Engineering and Science at Clemson University. Just prior to joining the faculty at Newman, Dr. Leyba was the Denver Area Director of Operations for Canberra Industries. Dr. Leyba joined the Newman faculty in 2002. He currently teaches courses in physics, earth and space science, chemistry, and sonography. Dr. Leyba has over 25 peer-reviewed publications including a paper involving the first observation of 79Se in Savannah River Site High Level Waste. Dr. Leyba's research interests involve fast chemical separations of radioactive materials. Dr. Leyba's accomplishments as a teacher were recognized by his students and peers with the 2005 Teaching Excellence Award.

Excellent book to prepare my classes

Pros:-Provides some helpful information to perform basic chemistry problemsCons:-The information provided in chapters doesn't go into enough detail to answer many of the questions at the end of chapter review.-Ironically, doesn't curtail the problems to make it CRNA focused. Would be just as fine as "Chemistry & Physics for Music Education Majors"-Would like to see at least one medicine in the book that CRNAs provide to make it a little applicable.

a good textbook for nurse anesthetists, doesn't quite have everything I want for my students but it is a good start

Yuck, yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Someone please write a book that is more visual in description and feels more like a sciencebook.

No good! I thought I ordered the 2nd edition which was advertised by picture of the 2nd edition, but isbn description was for the first and I was sent first edition. Very inconvenient to be in class with wrong book! Ordered from new book for used prices ...good book just wrong one! Advertisement should be of the right isbn and MATCHING picture as to not confuse buyers.

I have read to chapter 8 thus far and found this book to be confusing and not consice. The author uses many symbols when trying to describe equations and laws, but does not describe these symbolos. Also, there are refrences and symbols that the author adds for no good reason. I had to use other resource books to decipher exactly what the author was trying to get across in many instances. There are problems with answers at the end of every chapter, however, each chapter does not explain the material enough to answer most of the problems dealing with equations. The author uses valuable page space to project somthing like this-"......We see this when we sweat (or glisten, depending on your gender)." Ch.7 page 186. Sorry Shubert, but I dislike your book very much.....In fact, I cant wait to never look at it again. I hope another author decides to write a book for nurs anesthesia about chemistry and physics in a way that is better than your book does.

Well written, but clearly way out of focus for the target audience - SRNAs. As the authors have certainly never delivered an anesthetic and likely never been in an OR; it is understandably difficult for them to write a book relevant to the practice of anesthesia. Nice review of math, chemistry and physics, but a student's study time could be much better used with other resources.

The TAO OF WING CHUN by Sifu Danny Xuan is by far the best book out there on Wing Chun, period. A high quality hardcover, well produced, it has some of the best observations I have ever read. I am a student of Wing Chun and after reading this soon to be classic, I felt like there was something missing from all the other books on Wing Chun. It has great photos in it, but most of it is excellent teachings and observations that most books don't get into. Just Youtube Danny's name and there are some fantastic videos of Sifu using his art. His theoretical knowledge of Wing Chun is huge and he can put it all into practice too. It is pure Wing Chun, stripped of all non-essentials. There are some great interviews that explain what he is about. You feel like you just met a great master and this shines through his book.He has another book planned for the Siu Nim Tao form that will go where other book haven't. The TAO OF WING CHUN is a book to absorb, not just read, Fascinating!!! Someone finally wrote a book to challenge all the so called teachers that have watered down the teachings of Ip Man.This is a must have volume for any martial art library.Thank you Sifu Xuan for the quality of your teachings.

Much Goodness. Inspired myself, and subsequently my family (7 of us!) to switch to the Wing Chun system as a pragmatic basis for self defense (10 years of tai chi, ba gua, and hsing yi previously) I still practice my "roots," but Wing Chun should cover 99% of the most likely scenarios I can imagine my children and wife encountering, and so that is what we practice together. Excellent pictures and diagrams reinforce the explanations.

A very erudite work which describes the true essence of Wing Chun. The authors explore the history, concepts and applications of Wing Chun. However, this is a book about strategy - not tactics. It is not a manual on how to do WC techniques - it is about underlying principles and really does explain the 'Tao' of WC. In this sense, it is more valuable to the more advanced practitioner of WC. Indeed, it is a book that you will continue to refer to as your knowledge increases and as further subtleties of this martial art become apparent to you.

An explanation of the structural mechanics and principles that is not often taught by instructors today. The physics and structural approach to momentum generation, interception, and manipulation is the key to understanding the handling of the high speed exchange of momentum that occurs in a human fight. Understand these concepts, principles, and behaviors of force under angular manipulation, and you can strip away the nonessential elements of your training, and apply this provable scientific knowledge to your art of choice.

Very comprehensive, well explained and documented points of view on which I can agree from my own 25-year experience. Some passages may need to be read more than once to clearly understand them though. Co-authored by John Little who has had in-depth access to Bruce Lee's notes and writings and has published many books on behalf of the Bruce Lee estate. Not for the ones who have the illusion that they can learn the art from a book. But well worth buying if you have been practicing Wing Chun for a while and therefore have an understanding of what Danny Xuan is writing about.

This is great if you're already seriously practicing Wing Chun. Pretty refreshing take. Gets a tad technical, but the foundations are solid. I would recommend this is if you're seeking a little more information that isn't your standard "This is what Tan Sau looks like" type of book.

The ideas in this book will be a guide to return to as your experience increases. Really too much goodness to take in in one read.

I've been studying Wing Chun for a year and am progressing nicely. This is a great book and has a lot of useful information. It goes a lot deeper into the principles and philosophy of Wing Chun than most books I've read.

I do recommend this book! It put the whole Bible in perspective and opens how the Scriptures all point to Christ and eventually to the consummation of all God's promises in the Kingdom of Heaven. What truly help me get a deeper understanding was my pastor used this book for a compliment to the latest sermon series which included daily Scripture readings corresponding with the week's chapter and sermon. We also formed small Bible study groups where we read and discussed the Bible chapters, the chapter in the book and the sermons every week. Really saw folks eagerly reading their bibles, growing in their knowledge of the Word of God and experiencing God presence as we pursued him.

Great for new believers and old believers alike. Clear and concise overview of the bible to get the "big picture". As a new believer with little to no background in the bible, reading the bible can be overwhelming. This book helps to give a general understanding of the story of the bible as a whole, which in turn helps readers. I would definitely recommend this and wouldn't hesitate to hand it out to every new believer.

Vaughan Roberts wrote a superb introductory book helping people understand the storyline of the Bible. Roberts traces the main theme of the kingdom of God throughout his writings, beginning with Genesis and ended in Revelation. He begins his book by explaining that a majority of his writing relied heavily on the Gospel and Kingdom by Graeme Goldsworthy (10). His introduction covers several elementary areas such as the books of the Bible, order, and how the Old Testament relates to the New Testament (12-20). Relating the New Testament to the Old Testament, Roberts argues for a Christocentric hermeneutic (16-20).Roberts defines the kingdom of God as "God's people in God's place under God's rule and blessing" (21). Roberts's definition of the kingdom of God is significantly important for the entire book. Throughout the book, he chronologically traces the kingdom of God following this definition. Each chapter provides the reader with a chart helping them understand where God's people, place and rule were within particular areas of history. In addition to this chart, there was another chart, which showed the progression from creation, fall, history of Israel, Christ and the new creation (157). The final chart presented the line of Israel beginning with Abraham progressing to the Northern and Southern split, the Southern exile and release, Jesus and the last days (158).The book is divided in eight chapters focusing on the pattern, perished, promised, partial, prophesied, present, proclaimed and the perfect kingdom. The main chart illustrating the kingdom of God is included at the end of each chapter to help the reader understand the progressive unfolding of redemptive history. The books main agenda is to introduce the reader to the storyline of the Bible. The writing is not scholarly, but it will equip the reader with the proper tools to help them understand where they are when they pick up their Bible.Roberts's book may remain one my favorite entry-level books to teach others Biblical Theology. Teaching others the storyline of the Bible by utilizing Roberts charts has proven significantly practical for learners. Roberts understanding of the Kingdom as God's people in God's place under God's rule will help you identify where you are within any book in the Bible. Buy it, read it and enjoy!

This is a great little book, and very easy to read. For me it was required reading but I found it very interesting. I 'm pretty sure I will continue referring to it.I'm not sure I share his eschatological views. What I do resonate with, though, is the idea that God's agenda to bring his kingdom, and his king, to earth is a relentless pursuit.So many say the God of the Old Testament is wrathful and grumpy compared to the loving God portrayed in the New Testament. Such uninsightful baloney is arrived at in part through selective viewing and misunderstanding of what's been read. Ergo the title.Roberts does a good job of showing that everything God does throughout history is motivated by love and care. The fall of man that led to the rise of violent civilizations required counter-measures that seem harsh and cruel by today's standards. That we have standards at all, however, is evidence of the forward progress of his agenda.Again, Roberts makes this clear through his well-written, thoughtful, engaging and easy to read book. He inspires much renewed hope in unifying the Bible's message and focusing God's loving intentions throughout history into a laser sharp point.

I've grown up reading the Bible and going to church, and I have good foundations in systematic theology. So I'm better grounded than the average North-American Christian. But this book was surprisingly useful in getting the big picture storyline of the Bible. No, really, it surprised me, even though this goal is in the subtitle. The charts and graphs are especially valuable. This book will have a significant influence on our junior high curriculum this summer.Highly recommended, especially since it's so helpful and easy to read. It's a good starter in biblical theology (to use the technical term).
